School closed on Monday as a mark of respect

Just to let u all know that the school is closed on Monday as a mark of respect. The funeral of Miss McGrory will take place on Monday at 11am in Cockhill - just outside Buncrana.

Just to let u know that the time on this blog is not accurate. Due to this it has been brought to my attention that students have looked at the time that I sent the last msg and thought the sad news happened yesterday morning. As mentioned before the time is all wrong on this. The sad passing of Miss McGrory happened yesterday evening (Thursday evening) - not sure of the time. May she rest in peace.

Very sad news

By now u probably have heard the sad news that Elizabeth McGrory passed away this evening. Very sad news. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband and daughter. May she rest in peace.

PE - last week of Ji Jitsu - plans next week for computers

PE for both days next week is down in the community centre - please thank the instructors as it is the last week - hope that u enjoyed - please also get money paid up - still a good few to pay - do not leave the school before 140pm - be down there for 2pm - take note Thursday group - mocks on so we have no hall - u are also down in the community centre

Just to let u know that I am down the country next week examining in different schools so I will not be around - good luck with the Gaelic coaching - plans so far look great so best of luck with that - hope all goes well

My computer classes - u have plenty to do - check the blog, do your PE work, start your 5 minute presentation, any other work u need to do - get on with things quietly - thanks

work experience - please take note

Many students missed work experiance last friday (24.01.14).
Employers were informed but students neglected to let the school office/ Miss Corless know.
This is another reminder that both the school and employer must be informed.
Thanks to those who played rugby last friday for letting Miss Corless know .

Also PFW task is due in on Feb 10th (N.Oliver/Odhran) or Feb 13th (N.Oisin).

Some things which we discussed -

The following table must be added into your 5 minute presentation at the very start so each presentation must include the table below (down as far as name/class). U simply add the table as below and then fill in your answers down the side. It is very important that u answer all questions honestly.
From the assembly yesterday I made a few changes in terms of awarding marks and taking marks away - please let me know what u think - I am trying to reward students for doing things right and also penalise students if they have done wrong - its hard to get it right so please let me know your thoughts - I am open to changes - am sure that u realise this - email me mrdohertyloretoschool@yahoo.ie - u can email me with any ideas/thoughts or u can email me about anything u feel u need to speak to me about - thanks

Assembly - some changes

We had a small assembly yesterday - if u were not there please find out what we talked about

Well done to all the students who have completed some great work - so many of u are going over and beyond what is expected of u so well done and please keep this up - REMEMBER U GET OUT OF SOMETHING WHAT U PUT IN

However there are a few who need to up their work rate - the ball is in your court!! There are a few in danger of failing - and I don't want to fail anyone - but u must up the effort  - like the comment above - U GET OUT OF SOMETHING WHAT U PUT IN!!!

We also talked about being nice to each other and treating each other with respect - please make a new effort to get on with everyone in the TY classes and please treat others as u would like to be treated!

Students who do not go on the Bundoran trip will not be allowed to go to the Ireland or Celtic game - unless u have a very good excuse as to why u can not go to Bundoran!! If u can not go to Bundoran please see me asap!

I have to book the tickets for the Ireland game so it is important that everyone gets the money in for Bundoran - know that was supposed to be in for today - so who ever has paid for Bundoran - that is the number of tickets that I am gonna order for the Ireland game!

I know that a lot of these trips are coming close together but as always if there is an issue with money please come and see me

N Oisin are the winning class with regard to attendance - we (u and me) have decided not to add the strikes so that is fair enough - some good points made to me there yerterday which I accepted

PE this week - Bundoran and Celtic

PE in usual places this week - please make sure that u are on time

Bundoran and Celtic trips - please have the money in at the required times

Tonight is open night

Any students that are coming in tonight - please report to the sports hall at 7pm tonight - make sure that u have a lift home - if u have difficulty getting a lift don't bother coming in - I just don't want to cause any hassle to parents / guardians - thanks a million - please be in full school uniform

TY Schedule of work for rest of year - take note

Please see below - it is very important that u discuss these dates with your teachers and it is very important that u make your teachers aware of the dates so that everyone sticks to these dates. If there is a problem (and I know that there were a few problems in the first part of the year) with teachers sticking to the dates please let me know so that I can hopefully do something and solve the issue - it is in everybody's interest to stick to the schedule below!!!!!!!!!!!!
