Vote for student of the year/PE next week/Assembly/relay for life/computing workshop/Designing certificate

Anyone who has not voted for their TY student of the year - please come to me first thing on Monday - this needs to be in on Monday and I want everyone to have a vote - thanks

PE next week - for the Tuesday group - report to the Sports hall @ 150 on tuesday - we are here in the school - if u owe money have it paid otherwise u may be sent to another class

PE on thursday - we are going to Downings as we have a couple of weeks to make up - thanks - usual plans

We will have an assembly at some point next week so please be thinking about relay for life - remember we are all working together as ONE team - doing whatever we can for relay for life

Computing workshop - there is a computers workshop coming up in the IT in Lkenny - please remind me at the Assembly and I will give u more details - there is a problem as I think that it is on during the week of your interviews - need to check this just!!!

Anyone interested in designing the new TY Certificate of Achievement - I need someone creative to come up with this/I want something new and different  - please come and see me asap - thanks

Talks on Disability awareness!!!

There will be disability awareness talks on wed 19th and wed 26th March

The talk will last for 1 hour and u will have 1 hour on the 19th and 1 hour on the 26th

Odd shoe day!!!

Attendance - please take note!!!

I spoke to the N Oisin class and due to it being very difficult to get them away for a trip - due to winning the class prize for attendance - I offered them two free weeks to downings - as I wanted to keep to my word - it has just been very difficult to get out of school at the minute with so much going on - N Oisin as a class agreed and so that works out at a prize of 240 euro for the class (24 students @ 5 a week for two weeks)

Due to Mr Kelly speaking to me about the attendance records - I can not do this on a monthly basis as it would cost a lot to the school - I am sure that u understand - but the next prize will be for attendance from Xmas to Easter and I will either take money off a trip or give the class an additional trip depending on how things are - PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT YOUR ATTENDANCE IS TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT AT THE MAY INTERVIEW AND U WILL LOOSE MARKS IF U HAVE MISSED A LOT OF DAYS - THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN POINTED OUT AND THE EXACT WAY IT WORKS WAS HIGHLIGHTED IN PREVIOUS MSGS - ATTENDANCE IS CRUCIAL AND THIS NEEDS TO BE WATCHED - PARTICULARLY BY A NUMBER OF STUDENTS - IT IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO TAKE IN ABSENCE NOTES ON THE FIRST DAY BACK AT SCHOOL TO ACCOUNT FOR WHEN AND WHY U WERE OFF SCHOOL - THIS MUST ALSO BE DONE

There are also bonus marks for people who have full attendance as discussed before

There are too many people missing days and signing out early - please make a big effort to be at school all the time - remember u are only here 4 days a week!!! Big effort required - well done to the students who are on full attendance - keep this up

U Bank / odd shoe day

U bank are through to the National finals of their competition so please show your support by liking their facebook page UBank and their twitter page Ubankty - please check these out and support your current TY students

They are also organising an odd shoe day that will tke place next Thursday. Please take in 2 euro and wear 2 odd shoes on the day - this money is for charity and all proceeds will go to the Irish Mental Health Foundation for young people in Ireland - a very worthy charity - please do your bit to support the U bank and the charity

A massive well done to the TY students involved in the Gaelic coaching yesterday - u did a great job and I believe that the course was great for all of u and I hope that u got loads from it - yesterday ran off really well so well done to all - please make a big effort now to get the portfolio completed - this has to be done in the next two weeks and we can then send off for your certificates. The first years had a great day yesterday so again a massive well done - everyone was really impressed with u!

Celtic money should be in by now - I have permission slips - so please make sure money and permission slip is in by Tuesday!!! We have to confirm tickets!

Anyone that wishes to buy back a strike - if u have 3 positive notes in your diary - please see me at my office @ 1020 on Tuesday and we can get this sorted - I know that there are a few in this position - and that is good - so well done

Celtic Permission form

Dear Parents/Guardian,

We are organising a trip for Transition Year students to go to see the Celtic F.C. V St Mirron soccer match on Saturday 22^nd March 2014.

We will leave the school at approximately 3.45am on Saturday morning and as the match does not begin until 3pm the bus will not return until approximately 12pm on Saturday night. There will be three pick-up points – the School, Ramelton and Letterkenny. On the way home we can drop off students at places which are convenient. However I can not drop students off unless a parent / guardian is there to collect them. I am sure you will understand that this is for safety reasons. I appreciate that this is very inconvenient but would be grateful if you would arrange for your child to be collected. The times may change slightly but I will let the students know closer to the time. I know it is an early start but due to the journey time we have no choice. The TY school mobile will be in use on the day. The number is 00353860836822.

The students will be accompanied on the trip by a number of teachers. The cost per student is 80 pounds sterling. This includes travel and match ticket. The money must be in sterling.

I would be grateful if each student would return the permission slip and money as early as possible to secure their place on the trip. It is important to note that this trip is not compulsory – it is up to the students and yourself if you would like to go on this trip. I am aware it is dear but I have done my best to keep the price down.

Ireland match - things left on Bus/Students that did not go/Evaluation booklets/Rugby/Celtic

A few things were left on the bus from the game on Wednesday - ear phones and keys - please see me if u lost them

Well done to all on Wednesday - u were all really well behaved and u were a pleasure to take away - I hope that u enjoyed the day out - u are a great group to take away now I have to say so well done and keep it up

I was however disappointed with the number of students that took the day off on thursday!! There was no reason why u could not have been at school

Evaluation booklets - i am still missing some of these - please bring them in on Monday and could the 8 students who work on these evaluations please see me on Monday morning - we need to get these sorted!

Unlucky to the rugby lads in TY - very close game by all accounts - great to get to a final - next year u will hopefully go a step further

            Fr. Rory Brady has organised for the film on Medjugorje called “The Triumph” on Monday 10^th March at 11.00 to be shown at Century Cinemas in Letterkenny. Students will leave at 10.00 and return to school at 1.30. This would be a great opportunity for your son/daughter to gain a deeper insight into Medjugorje prior to our pilgrimage in April.

Cost for the film and bus is €8. If you like your son/daughter to go on this trip please return the permission slip below by Friday.

Well done to all/Build a bank/arrangements for tomorrow/celtic/evaluation booklets

A massive well done to all the students involved in mini company today - I know that two groups got through and other prizes were won as well - a massive well done to all who took part

Again well done to the Build a bank - got some reports today about all your work and how u did yesterday - excellent - well done - and I was delighted the way that u split the prize money without even been told - great stuff - well done

Tomorrow - hopefully a good day in store - go to registration as normal and then all meet in the canteen - do not go to the buses straight away - no school uniform required - wear green!!

Celtic money - the numbers are small but we are still gonna go - the second and last instalement of money must be in by the end of next week - 40 sterling as well - please come to me on thursday and I will give u a permission letter - if there are any issues with money please just see me - we will work something out!

Evaluation booklets - please please please bring these in - I am still missin ones - could the 8 students who completed the evaluations last time please come to me on thursday morning as I am planning on getting these done this week - they should be done long ago!!!!
